Deborah Hamlin

Irrigation Association

Deborah Hamlin has over 30 years of experience in working with professional and trade organizations. She moved to this area in 2006 to be the chief executive officer of the Irrigation Association and executive director of the Irrigation Foundation. 

As CEO, Deborah has been instrumental in shifting the IA’s mission and culture to “promoting efficient irrigation.” The association focuses on education and advocacy – ensuring competent professionals are designing, installing and maintaining irrigation systems and sharing the economic and environmental benefits of both agricultural and residential-commercial irrigation. In her Foundation role, she helps her industry recruit and grow their future workforce by “promoting careers in irrigation.”

Prior to working with the IA, Deborah served as executive director of the International Association of Plastics Distributors for 10 years. 

Deborah graduated from the New York State College at Oneonta and received her MBA from Rockhurst College in Kansas City. Deborah is a certified association executive through the American Society of Association Executives and was named an ASAE fellow in 2000. Deborah currently serves on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers’ Council of Manufacturing Associations and National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors. Deborah and her husband reside in Falls Church, Virginia.

Anne Roth, CMP
Key Account Director

Anne Roth, CMP is a Key Account Director for IHG, Intercontinental Hotels Group working the Association Group & Convention market.  Anne’s experience in the meetings industry has been both above property in Global Sales and on property in Sales and Conference Service roles.  Anne’s professional affiliations currently include MPI, ASAE and PCMA.  Volunteerism is important to her, she most recently served on PCMA’s Global Task Force and the Convention Industry Council’s Room Block Piracy and Poaching.  In her spare time, she is a volunteer lobbyist with AH&LA, ASAE, IAEE and with IHG.  She is a graduate of Virginia Tach.


Julie M. Sullivan, CMP, CEM, CTA

Association for Women in Events (AWE)

Julie has nearly 20 years of expertise in event planning, exhibition sales, meeting management and leading teams in both non-profit and for-profit cultures.  She is President-Elect of the Association for Women in Events (AWE) and has served on their Board of Directors since the organization’s inception in 2015.  Julie also served as Chair of AWE’s Education and Events Committee since the committee’s creation in 2016.   Julie stands on the International Association of Exhibition and Events (IAEE) DC Chapter Board of Directors and IAEE’s CEM Commission.  This year, she joined ASIS International as a member of their events team headquartered in Alexandria, VA.
